Rezz drops heavy new collaboration with French producer Raito, ‘Alien’
Rezz’s rise to dance music notoriety is seemingly inevitable. Outside of her fervent fanbase, she boasts one of the more unique sonic identities in electronic music, fusing elements of techno, dubstep, and breaks into a spooky midtempo style.
After delighting fans by sharing her full set from Shambhala, the Canadian upstart has unleashed one of her strongest tracks to date: “Alien.” The new track is collaboration with French producer Raito, who’s been a notable newcomer on imprints like Mako and Main Course over the past year.
It’s a snarling concoction that immediately evokes parallels to both producers’ idols, Gesaffelstein and Boys Noize. With its biting bass lead and minimal drum arrangement, it expertly straddles the line between an EDM and underground track, making for a composition that is sure to delight fans across the aisle. We dare say it’s the best thing we’ve heard from Isabelle Rezazadeh yet.
