Steve Aoki has officially remixed Blink-182
Blink-182 have put themselves back in the spotlight with their new album California, and it appears they’ve discovered a surprising fan and collaborator in the process. Back in March, it was revealed that Steve Aoki had recruited the band’s assistance for a single on his forthcoming album Neon Future III. Now, the band has returned the favor in selecting the Dim Mak boss to re-work one of their own – “Bored To Death.”
After pairing with Felix Jaehn and Adam Lambert for a summery “Can’t Go Home,” Aoki plunges into the bass realm for his interpretation of Blink-182. He starts off with a deceptively peaceful beginning, choosing to emphasize Hoppus’ emotive vocals and the central guitar melodies which gradually build into a cacophony of wonky synthesizers and bass set to a trap rhythm.
