Kygo announces collaboration with Ellie Goulding
Kygo has more or less completed his transition into pop stardom. His evolution from the pioneer of tropical house to even more radio-friendly singles like “Firestone” and his well-received Cloud Nine album have firmly planted his name into the public psyche, and his fame has only grown from there with appearances at the Olympics, the Nobel Prizes, and more monumental events. To boot, Kygo solidified his mainstream appeal earlier in the year with a Selena Gomez collaboration titled “It Ain’t Me.”
Now the Norwegian prodigy returns with yet another all-star collaboration, this time with Ellie Goulding, who’s worked heavily with dance music producers throughout her illustrious career. Kygo announced the collaboration through Twitter, revealing the title as “First Time” with a debut date of Friday, April 28. While the song has yet to be heard, the announcement alone caused an immediate firestorm of hype and speculation as to what both great artists have in store for them.
