Low End Theory releases The Gaslamp Killer residency with the series
Low End Theory, an LA localized “weekly party series” that fosters hip-hop, experimental, and electronic aesthetics has released William Bensussen from his residency with brand.
Known by his stage name, The Gaslamp Killer, Bensussen’s discharge from Low End Theory arrives in the wake of the sexual assault allegations alleged against the artist just yesterday on Twitter by a user named Chelsea (@chelseaelaynne) who claimed that the DJ drugged and raped both her and a friend during a party at The Standard in 2013.
While Chelsea’s statement currently remains alleged, Low End Theory has decided to part ways with Bensussen, announcing Bensussen’s termination in an official statement likewise posted to Twitter.

Bensussen was supposed to appear at Low End Theory’s New York City event yesterday, the performance scheduled as a part of the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival‘s (BEMF) tenth anniversary. BEMF cancelled the show, writing, “Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival has chosen to cancel the Low End Theory show. This is not the appropriate time to present these artists in light of the allegations that were made last night.”
The Gaslamp Killer has since denied the veracity of the allegations.
