Chromeo infuses Maroon 5’s ‘Wait’ with nu-disco on new remix

Electro-funk duo Chromeo channel their characteristic feel good style on their rework of Maroon 5‘s earnest number, “Wait,” the second single from the band’s sixth studio album, Red Pill Blues.

A remix with roots in nu-disco sound, Chromeo’s take on the radio-geared pop song includes the layering of a 70s-inspired background beat and guitar melody that quicken the pace of the original, while providing a lighthearted rhythm that effortlessly drives the flip forward. Bearing a “far out” feel derivative of its 70s influence, Chromeo’s remix is the definition of “rad.”
