OCULA returns with mesmerizing techno release ,’Groundwork,’ on latest mau5trap compilation
OCULA’s built quite a compelling angle of anticipation for his next move. He’s just returned with a brand new single, “Groundwork,” via mau5trap’s Foar Moar, Vol. 4 compilation, which marks the most outright departure from his tastefully fused progressive housework to date, and it’s an indelible deliverance — and more importantly, was definitely worth the wait.
Both his two earlier mau5trap releases, “Ingrained” and “Caerus,” had yet to explore this more brooding, cinematic nature that “Groundwork” sees, and yet, “Groundwork” possess a degree of production poise that are almost as if OCULA’s explored techno tact his entire career. It’s a diversifying plunge further into the innovative techno MO, for the label, too, which has seen some incredibly cinematic soundscapes coming from its tasteful newcomers Rinzen and HEYZ, just this past year. Now it’s clear OCULA, too, will continue to lay the groundwork for the label’s growth in the new year, too.
