Jerry Folk releases his ‘Leisure Tapes’ EP; an effortless electronic journey through sound exploration

Jerry Folk released his new EP, Leisure Tapes, nearly a year after his previous project. The new EP lands in full after a preview of the project with three singles – “Sweetness On My Tongue,” “Another Night,” and “Bakers.” Intentionally avoiding genre tags, the EP takes listeners through a carefully crafted soundscape of mesmerizing melodies and stellar beats. The lead single, “All In Me,” carries the only feature in Heavy Mellow. The track employs an almost-improvised feel, setting the tone for Jerry Folk’s effortless electronic flows. With different elements harmonically lifting each layer of Jerry Folk’s pleasing new project, the musician showcases his ability to create narratives that listeners can easily get lost in.

Growing up in Norway, Folk was inspired by Norwegian hip-hop and found a significant influence in Michael Jackson‘s music. He connected with electronic music at the age of 15; however, the clubs in Scandinavia weren’t the proper incubators for Folk’s brand of unique R&B and soulful electro-funk. Arriving on west coast shores sometime later proved to be the move for for Jerry Folk, and now he’s kicking back fine tuning his craft of Leisure Tapes.
