Nitti Gritti debuts on Mad Decent with heavy-hitting EP, ‘Drive’
Nitti Gritti has released his Drive EP off Diplo‘s Mad Decent label. The four-track EP blends electro, bass, and trap elements as the Miami native douses the project with his high-energy style.
“Money” is starts off fast with chants below trap percussion that quickly leads into an anticipation rise and a spaced-out trap climax with screeching synths. “I Got It” is a collaboration with Maliboux that gets to the point quick, with machine-dismantling trap whose tempo gets cut in half on the second drop. “Tell Me” has more of a hip-hop vibe, allowing for a more casual, laid-back atmosphere at the beginning. The drop has more of a melodic trap feel than the previous two percussion smashers. “Drive” is a collaboration with Eliminate. Bassheads will rejoice as big 808s crawl amongst piercing high-ends for a brain-melting sensation.
The first two tracks off the EP drop after around 30 seconds, denoting the producer’s quick pace. Nitti Gritti’s debut Mad Decent project comes after his hard-hitting, bass collaboration with Adair, “Run & Hyde.”
