French Horn Rebellion debuts their new label, Toucan Sounds, with an electro-funk heater from LEFTI, “Every Time,” featuring Spencer Ludwig. This trumpet-doused funk is the lead single off LEFTI’s DISCOTECA EP, set to be released off the newly minted imprint.

Looking to possess an artful fusion of live and electronic production touching on disco and house music, the Brooklyn-based Alex Suarez richly layers the productions on the EP for some full-bodied funk. “Every Time” begins with a groovy production over filtered vocal harmonies increasing in energy. Ludwig’s verse begins atop a bed of lush, pulsating synths and drives into an anticipation build that introduces the horns that fall into funky trumpet bliss in conjunction with smooth bass and disco-style vocals.

If “Every Time” is the imprint’s introduction to 2019, nu disco from Toucan Sounds will add a jolt of energy to the Brooklyn scene.
