First Listen: Noy enlists Sophiegrophy for bass and hip-hop cross pollination on, ‘Too Busy’

Exercising a deftness in range, Noy has returned with his latest hybrid work in tow, “Too Busy.” Supported by the likes of Triple J, Night Bass, and AIA, the Australian producer and his new single arrive hot off the trail of his three-track collaborative EP with Jordan Burns, Like Me. Now, Noy diverges from the predecessor’s slick bass house demolition and veers into fusion territory, as he makes his next foray.

Recruiting Nigeria-born, New Zealand-raised act Sophiegrophy, the genre-bending track showcases production versatility as Noy siphons elements from mid-tempo, bass house, and hip-hop into a forceful electronic display. Witnessing the new wave hip-hop rapper lending her voice to “Too Busy,” the track pairs sultry vocals with raucous bass stabs, outlined by complementary dance-pop features that rapidly culminate in a domineering drop.

“Too Busy” is out now on Be Rich Records.
