Nurko reconvenes with Proximity to further his rise on ‘Better Off Lonely’ with RØRY
A single performance can serve as a career-defining moment for a rising artist, especially in a newfound digital event age where streaming audiences are not confined by in-person capacity limits. Nurko found this to be true at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, when he took the virtual decks for Proximity’s first Digital Mirage, in what would arguably be the festival’s single most talked about appearance. Now, tacking onto his uninterrupted release run this summer, including spins for Illenium and Gryffin as well as a recent Trivecta pairing, Nurko is delivering his latest original, “Better Off Lonely,” alongside RØRY.
Finding himself right at home on Proximity, Nurko provides another masterclass on his own melodic dubstep twist, with “Better Off Lonely,” rivaling even the best from the genre’s most well-respected accessories. Standing at four-and-a-half-minutes, “Better Off Lonely” is rife with complementary elements, from RØRY’s heartbroken vocals to Nurko’s freethinking harmonies. With further originals in the pipeline, including collaborations with Illenium, Dabin, and Adventure Club, the journey towards headliner prestige for Nurko is well on its way.
