Faithless tap Maceo Plex for new remix of ‘Synthesizer’

Ahead of their first album in a decade, Faithless have enlisted Maceo Plex for a remix of “Synthesizer.” The first single shared from the electronica act’s LP, All Blessed, “Synthesizer” has already garnered support from Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Roger Sanchez, and more. On calling the Spain-based producer for an electrifying reimagining, Faithless lauded Maceo Plex for taking the track “into a whole new wide-screen sonic world,” noting it as, “a remix to get properly lost in.”

Featuring glitchy soundscapes and deep drum kicks, the remix spotlights the original’s piano progression, as Maceo Plex weaves cinematic crescendos throughout club-learned beats. Dusky hi-hats and pulsating bass lines envelop Nathan Ball’s smooth vocals, transforming the track into a euphoria-rife production punctuated by dissonant qualities and genre-morphing capabilities.

“At first listen, I was not too sure how to approach the remix. But when I heard the piano in the breakdown, it suddenly became clear that I need to base the entire track around this beautiful piano line,” stated Maceo Plex.

All Blessed will land on October 23 via BMG.
