Newcomer GUMMiBEAR drops off club-ready ‘Thriller’ remix ahead of Halloween
Michael Jackson remixes don’t come around often—if you’re going to remix The King of Pop, you better come correct. Luckily, newcomer GUMMiBEAR, manages to do just that. Now, that’s not to say the enigmatic emerging DJ might be flexing some early catalog-building confidence with a new “Thriller” remix, following a well-received flip on Justin Bieber and Chance The Rapper‘s “Holy” earlier this month, but the effort is commendable nonetheless. In a quick follow-up to their last remix, GUMMiBEAR revisits Michael Jackson’s 1982 smash hit, laying his own club-ready spin on the iconic pop culture phenomenon just in time for Halloween.
Jump starting Jackson’s classic with a club-primed uptempo beat, GUMMiBEAR modifies “Thriller” with a 21st century dance floor makeover. Low pass filters and a vocal loop usher in a steep build before the track breaks into thumping futuristic house stylings that offer a more than complementary counterpart to one of the most successful singles of all time. Listen to the tune below and mask up for spooky SZN.
