Tycho shares Satin Jackets rework of ‘Japan’ ahead of impending ‘Weather Remixes’
After skillfully disclosing his fifth studio album Weather, Tycho looks to reinvigorate the record. Announcing Weather Remixes, the ambient musician gears up to unveil eight new remixes, accounting for every track on the Grammy-nominated project. Enlisting Mild Minds, RAC, Com Truise, pluko, and more, the forthcoming package will land December 18.
In his forthcoming return to the 2019 LP, Tycho has shared the Satin Jackets reimagining of “Japan.” One of five cuts employing the vocals of collaborator Saint Sinner, the original downtempo production weaves glowing instrumentation over subtle rhythms. With his lush rework, Satin Jackets capitalizes on Tycho’s signature guitar plucks as he transforms the soundscape into cerebrally-stimulating surroundings, garnering a steady pace and buzzy synths while maintaining the warm tonality of the predecessor.
