With this pitched-down vocal hook, Friendless and Kyle Kinch pay homage to a musical staple that provides the namesake for their first outing—the “Metronome.” The shuffling house hitter allows its hook to loop, galvanizing fancy footwork as the Australian and American tastemakers help HUGS realize its second-ever release. “Metronome” directly succeeds Kinch’s “Rumpshaker,” released on July 30, and Friendless’ “Push It.”
