Honey & Badger sent off 2022—a year in which he donned a Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2022 title—with an original that inarguably sits atop the list of his most high-profile releases. And just over a month after the arrival of his Confession return, the Belgian is relocating over to Dim Mak for his “Careless” successor. Just a few days into the year, he took to his Instagram to crowd test four different IDs that he’s likely locked in for his 2023 schedule, with the first ID fittingly being first up on his release calendar.

That previously unnamed production is now bears the title of “Bassline Phenomena.” And while Honey & Badger took a more militant route of Belgian-bred house his last release round, his more than aptly titled introduction into 2023 shifts back towards his exemplary toned-down, smooth touch that opens his year rolling on an incredibly auspicious sonic note.
