The enigmatic Malaa is unquestionably the biggest star on Tchami's Confession label aside from the French figurehead himself. The balaclava-bearing behemoth's newest track, "Fade," makes him the first artist to achieve a second release on the imprint.
Since it's establishment just a few short months ago, Tchami's Confession label has introduced an interesting vision for the future of future house. Aside from his own After Life EP, all of the releases on his imprint have pushed the envelope by diverging in some way from the prescribed notions of the genre.
The Los Angeles-based duo of Pablo de Rosacruz and Ruslan Slatin first broke out as ATICA a year ago with a series of future bass, future house, and bass house remixes. ATICA found their first major exposure with their rambunctious track "Turn Up (feat. Ageelion)," released on Spinnin' Records tech and deep house offshoot, Work Records.
In December 2013, Tchami released his debut EP, Promesses, on Fool's Gold Records. Two years later, after establishing himself as the predominant pioneer of dance music's most trending genre, Martin Bresso has released his sophomore EP, After Life on his own Confession label.
The enigmatic Malaa lays claim to Confession's sophomore release, "Notorious." Cleverly referencing his own notoriety, Malaa sample's Notorious BIG's anthemic "Going Back to Cali" throughout his flagship release on the Confession label.
Naming itself "San Francisco’s newest and most ambitious 18+ dance music event," Confession returns following Sidney Samson's dutch house performance in January in celebration of the Spring Break season with 3LAU.
