Eekkoo – B.L.A.C.K (Original Mix)
Following in the footsteps of its predecessor’s macabre footsteps, “B.L.A.C.K.” rolls with a notably perkier footing to that of its first Casper Whirlin and Sailor & I accompanied single. Behind the heavyset electro leads and hollow grooves sits yet another dimension to Eekkoo’s ever-expanding studio vernacular and on the approach to EP number two for Mau5trap, all signs point to a game changer.
DA Premiere: Lazy Rich and Hot Mouth – Flash (Original Mix)
Have no fear, electro is alive and well in the hands of Lazy Rich and Hot Mouth. The pair join forces for the first time on "Flash," flying under the mau5trap flag for their debut output as a duo, planting themselves firmly back in the electro conversation. Reminiscent of both artists older work, the duo piece together a driven and funky tech-house output that oozes with electro house appeal. Conjuring up a bit of 2008 nostalgia courtesy of Lazy Rich's gritty synthwork and Hot Mouth's gold-plated melodies, "Flash" is a no-nonsense dance floor fire starter -- one crafted back when a time when the beats were harder and the the sounds were quintessentially underground.
EEKKOO – Towers (Original Mix)
Initially posted to mau5trap's Soundcloud as brief ID track, EEKKOO's "Towers" is another shining example of the young producer's music first approach towards his art. Indicative of the label he calls home, the mau5trap understudy's latest brings to life a nightmarish haze of sandblasted synthwork and mechanical hisses. A death march of macabre progressions and razor sharp sound design, "Towers" marks another un-marred output from the Montreal-based prodigy - and the start of a healthy career led by innovative rather than assimilation.
