Deadmau5 talks up Kat Von D and new album, slams Pauly D, Madonna, and Ultra Records in Spin Magazine interview
Our favorite outspoken DJ Deadmau5 has given another interview to Spin Magazine, and as usual, he doesn't hold much back. Joel Zimmerman has more than enough to say about his new relationship with Kat Von D, his spat with Pauly D, a possible falling out with Ultra Records, and a new album.
Ultra Records and Ultra Music Festival form ‘global alliance’ to ‘strengthen one another’
Most people don't realize the distinction, but 'Ultra Music Festival' is actually completely unrelated to 'Ultra Records' -- until now. Billboard.biz reports that the two companies will be forming a "global alliance," that essentially links one of the strongest record labels out there to one of the most lucrative festival brands worldwide.
Topher Jones – Brohammer (Nari and Milani Remix)
Dearest bros (and bro-ettes) we come to you today with the most bro-rific, bro-tastic, bro-nified remix in recent memory from none other than Nari and Milani -- the same duo that brought us the monstrously huge (but much less bro-y) "Atom." These two prove their production prowess yet again, this time around they take a swing at Topher Jones's tongue-in-cheek, dubstep jam "Brohammer" transforming the original's frat-tastic facade with a fast-paced bass line and techno grit. Similar to "Atom" the production quality here is top notch and the groove is extremely infectious.
Adrian Lux feat. Dante – Burning (Faustix & Imanos Remix)
Faustix & Imanos are back with their rendition of Adrian Lux's "Burning." Released on Ultra Records alongside the Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl remix, Faustix & Imanos's rendition features a stronger melody and a longer build, complete with that well-produced progressive breakdown we've come to expect from these New York natives. If you loved the original "Burning" but just wish it had a little more punch than you'll love this remix.
