Okeechobee Festival christens first edition lineup with star-studded Phase Two announcement

2016’s festival circuit is about to make room for yet another big player. March in Florida has historically been a special time for dance music, but come next spring, Okeechobee, Florida will become a new destination for dance music enthusiasts and hip-hop heads alike. Okeechobee Festival, set to take place March 4-6, is promising a memorable first edition with Kendrick Lamar and Skrillex headlining the inauguration. Now, the festival is ready to bring in a second wave of artists, including Bassnectar, The Avett Brothers, and Odesza.

In contrast with Ultra’s larger-than-life electronic appeal, noteworthy additions from the second phase include Lettuce, Kill The Noise, and Lil Dicky. Also slated to perform is Big Grams, the collaborative mashup of Outkast’s Big Boi and Phantogram. Thus far, Okeechobee is poised to set festival season into motion, and it will be exciting to preview how the block’s newest supergroup does in a live setting.

The festival is offering yoga, swimming, and exploring in addition to a stellar first edition lineup. From Fetty Wap‘s radio-dominating hip-hop to Dr. Dog’s sultry bluegrass, Okeechobee is prepared to add something special to the east coast’s initial wave of festivals.
