Crystal Castles preview new LP single, ‘Chloroform’

Ethan Kath has fully immersed himself reviving Crystal Castles since the departure of former band mate Alice Glass, replacing her with new blossoming talent Edith Frances and announcing an extensive world tour in support of the band’s 4th album, Amnesty (I). Five songs have already premiered off the new album, including the ethereal single “CHAR,” which demonstrates Kath’s mastery in synthesizer manipulation in addition to Frances’ ability to shoulder the responsibility left behind by Glass.

Less than a week away from the August 19 release date, “Chloroform” presents itself as the newest taste of Amnesty (I). A brief preview clip follows acrobatics performed in a sparse desert setting to a backdrop of haunting, left-field bass music lined with a tingly topline and Frances’ soft vocals.
