Organizers forced to shut down day one of Lollapalooza
Taking an unfortunate hit from Mother Nature’s latest precipitation blitz, the organizers behind Lollapalooza made the call to pull the plug on first day of the event. Initially given a glimmer of hope, festival-goers were told to make their way towards the nearest exits, however it was shortly made clear that the event would not re-open its doors for the remainder of the night. While circumstances remained unfavorable for the thousands of attendees, the four-day event is set to blaze on with performances from DJ Snake, Kaskade, Justice, and Chi-town native Chance The Rapper throughout the span of the weekend.
Tonight’s performances will not resume. Please make your way toward shelter, away from Grant Park. pic.twitter.com/3BTAU2Lhf1
