Avicii’s family launches tribute website in remembrance
Following his post-humous award for Best Dance Video for his track “Better Together” at the MTV Video Music Awards, Avicii‘s family has created a website in his memory. The site is essentially an aggregation of both fans’ and loved ones’ tokens honoring Tim Bergling’s legacy, including letters, pictures, and condolences. According to Avicii’s press spokesperson, Ebba Lindqvist, ”The remembrance forum is created upon request from Tim’s family.”
Lindqvist says the family received an overwhelming outpour of condolences and heartfelt messages following Bergling’s untimely death this past April. They subsequently pushed to launch the site to create “a digital space” for the expressions of love and respect geared towards the legendary DJ-producer. Bergling’s father, Klas Bergling, also just recently accepted another post-humous reward on his behalf for “Swedish Song of the Year,” during which he said, ”I am so happy to have got the opportunity to come here tonight and thank you for this nice prize for Tim and Sandro, thanking all of you who’ve voted for ’Without You,’ which is a fantastic song, but most of all thanking for all the beautiful and fantastic tributes of Tim and his music.”
