Disclosure dish on upcoming third studio album with Annie Mac after week long release spree

Disclosure have been on a seemingly impromptu release spree, dropping a song every day for a full week. “Moonlight,” on Monday, “Where Angels Fear to Tread” on Tuesday, “Love Can Be So Hard” on Wednesday, “Funky Sensation” featuring Gwen McCrae on Thursday, and “Where You Come From” on Friday.

While premiering “Where You Come From” on Annie Mac‘s BBC Radio 1, the duo disclosed their imminent third album and how these tracks fit in.

“We seem to be back right now. It’s definitely been a while. 100 percent an album is being made – that’s for sure. Whether or not these songs make it [on the album] is yet to be seen. We’ve been writing a lot. We reckon we’ve put together about 80 to 100 different ideas over the past year, but we have no idea which of them, if any, will actually be on the album. It’s a serious track listing job to come now. Now we’re going to start moving onto the next step and start working with some vocalists.”

It didn’t take long for the Disclosure boys to climb their way right back into the center of the electronic music news cycle. With the massive volume of material released each week, a unique release strategy (or maybe lack thereof) is becoming an art in itself, and with their surprising week of back-to-back drops, Disclosure seem well on the comeback trail now. The pair’s previous album, Caracal, was released in 2015. After that, the Lawrence brothers decided to take time off in 2017, though it seems their hiatus is over in the tail end of 2018.
