San Holo releases his third single this week, ‘voices in my head,’ off his debut ‘album1’ LP
San Holo releases the third taste off his highly anticipated debut album, album1, set to drop tomorrow, September 21. The newest single, “voices in my head,” features bitbird artist and the label boss’ good friend, The Nicholas. This week, he released two other singles from the upcoming LP: “surface” featuring Caspian and “forever free” featuring Duskus.
“Voices in my head” starts with grounded synths laying the framework so twinkling mallets can shine and lead into anticipation. Vocal sounding synths are then introduced with a hardened percussion backbone that fall into The Nicholas’ soft vocals with fluttering guitar underneath. There’s a celestial feeling throughout the emotive track, empowered by strong percussion and synth elements with fluttering harmonies atop.
From future bass to what sounds like genreless electronic music, San Holo has taken the bitbird label in a unique direction of sound, arrangement, and composition. Listeners can certainly hear the separation from the stereotypical EDM scene in his first three singles from the album that will become a cornerstone for the label’s envisioned direction.
