Oliver Heldens rings in the weekend with jazzy party starter, ‘Fire In My Soul’
Oliver Heldens can always be counted on to keep fans on their toes. Just days after indulging his experimental HI-LO alias with a fresh single, the future house star swings the other direction with a driving and joyful party starter, “Fire In My Soul.” Featuring caramel-smooth stylings from LA-based vocalist Shungudzo, the single could be Heldens’ most infectious and groovy offering of the year.
With just a sugary verse and tempo setting finger snaps, the track sprints toward a distorted bass line and driving kick. Above the electronic mayhem, a smorgasbord of soulful sounds ranging from horns to cowbells. The song catches a breather in a shuffling vocal breakdown, and gets right back to it with another brash beat section stuck delectably between jazzy groover and full on fist pumper. Oliver Heldens isn’t one to hold back, and his latest set burner is dance floor escapism of the highest order.
