Good Morning Mix: Madeon uploads secret DJ set from UC Riverside’s Spring Splash Festival

To hold everyone over until the second leg of his “updated, definitive” Good Faith Forever show kicks off in early March—on top of his Firefly Festival stream upload—Madeon decided to share a virtual set that only a handful of people had ever seen before. In May 2021, California’s UC Riverside tapped the Frenchman for a digital event hosted for its students, and nine months later, Madeon posed the question of whether or not he should make his Spring Splash Festival appearance publicly available. And after a collective “yes” on Twitter, Madeon wasted no time in uploading the hour-long stream onto his YouTube.

As a direct follow-up to his DJ set from the first-ever Secret Sky from April 2020, Madeon stood before a green screen for nearly an hour, with visuals somewhat based on the actual production from his sophomore album’s new live show. And exactly as he did during Secret Sky, Madeon’s Spring Splash Festival tracklist encompasses everything, including a VIP edit of “The Prince,” his wwFest blend of Daft Punk’s “One More Time” and The 1975’s “If You’re Shy (Let Me Know),” SG Lewis and Nile Rogers’ “One More,” Porter Robinson’s “Unfold,” and a finale with Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September.”
