Premiere: Will Sparks, New World Sound take a techno-driven trip on Musical Freedom with ‘LSD’
“LSD started as a 14-day acid trip that we still haven’t woken up from.” That was how Will Sparks prefaced the story of how his reunion with New World Sound came about. Nearly two years removed from the arrival of “Lies,” Will Sparks and New World Sound deemed it the right time to run it directly back for a follow-up release, relocating to Tiësto’s Musical Freedom to embark on a sonic daydream with “LSD.”
The title of Will Sparks and New World Sound’s sequel sums of the feeling the track itself presents, with the Aussie triumvirate taking to the polar end of the electronic spectrum following their more toned-down collaborative debut from 2020. “LSD” is a rush of sweltering, techno-driven mania as Sparks and New World Sound match up with a magnetic vocal—provided by the fiancé of Tyrone from New World Sound—resulting in an electronic rollercoaster that’s rooted on its simplistic, straightforward nature as Sparks himself described it.
“LSD” is out everywhere via Musical Freedom on February 4, but can be streamed in full one day early, exclusively on Dancing Astronaut.
