Watch this: Lagori’s acoustic cover of ‘Sun and Moon’ ahead of A&B’s #TATW450 in Bangalore this Saturday
If there's one thing I know, it is that Above & Beyond has some stellar videographers working for them. As a trailer for their 450th and final Trance Around The World and first Above & Beyond Group Therapy shows, the team released a visually stunning trailer showcasing a cute acoustic cover by Lagori of their megahit, "Sun and Moon." The show airs live this Saturday evening and will broadcast sets from Jody Wisternoff, Andrew Bayer, Norin & Rad, Mat Zo, and Above & Beyond in a marathon six hour event. RAC celebrates early success with incredible Chapter One album
The Remix Artist Collective (RAC) has been pleasing the indie and dance music communities since 2007, but we're only just now being given the chance to look back on some of the lovely tunes birthed by members Andre Anjos, Andrew Maury, and Karl Kling over the last several years with the release of their Chapter One remix compilation album.
Bert on Beats turns up the bass with release of new Modern Vampires EP
Fresh from New York's Trouble & Bass label, the folks who bring you releases from the likes of Drop The Lime, AC Slater, Plastician, and others, is a new EP from Estonian producer Bert on Beats. The three track EP, Modern Vampires, offers a range of bass heavy style. The EP isn't easily constrained into a genre; we hear bouncy bass lines and stuttered vocal loops on the title track, a crazy dramatic flute melody on "Flute Thing," and Diplo-like drum kick on "Get Your Freak On." It's not dubstep, it's not moombahton, it's not electro house, it's just heavy bass and it's well-designed for the dance floor.

In Four Seasons compilation, Paul Oakenfold curates music for each change in season
In honor of finishing up his year long Four Seasons live tour, dance music legend Paul Oakenfold has released a four disc compilation album aptly entitled "Four Seasons" on Armada Music. The concept is simple but universal; he's designed four distinct mixes for each season of the year. No matter where you are at a given time, if you're a trance lover, Oakenfold's got something for you. Much like his many, many Essential Mixes, he brings in an impressive range of sounds from every corner of the world to bring you along on an aural journey. We've listened through the compilation several times and picked out some favorites for you if you'd like to sample before you dive in all the way.
Ørjan Nilsen – Copperfield
Norwegian producer Ørjan Nilsen is out with his latest single "Copperfield" on Armin van Buuren's Armind Recordings. If his popularity wasn't already apparent fro m the success of other recent releases like "Viking," "Endymion," and his Armin collab "Better," Ørjan also snagged a #32 spot on this year's DJ Mag poll. "Copperfield" is a ravey trance track with a chunky bassline and topline that manages to feel pretty old school. It's obvious Ørjan draws influence from Armin's sound (the track was also featured on A State of Trance back in October), but also toes the line between trance and a more tech house feel. Listen and purchase after the break.
Mark Fanciulli – Cutoff EP
Mark Fanciulli's Cutoff EP, an exciting addition to the tech house scene, was released yesterday on Leena Records. You may recognize the last name; Mark Fanciulli is younger brother to fellow producer Nic Fanciulli. Mark first blew up in May of 2011 with the release of "The Tide" on Joris Voorn's Rejected label, and fans have been blessing the Fanciulli parents ever since. Cutoff's two tracks, "Cutoff" and "Body 2 Body," bend the limits of tech house productions with deep grooves, high-pitched synthesizers, and funky male vocal loops. The EP gives you a dose of both deeper and more driving house music, and we're loving the juxtaposition.
XS Las Vegas to host Tiesto, Deadmau5, Steve Angello, Avicii over New Year’s Weekend
XS Las Vegas is out with its New Year's Eve Weekend lineup, and it does not disappoint. We already knew Eric Prydz would be headlining at neighboring Surrender, and XS has only raised the stakes for a dance music lover's dream weekend in Vegas. In chronological order, XS will be featuring Tiesto, Steve Angello, Deadmau5 over the preceding weekend and finally Avicii on New Year's Eve. Tickets will undoubtedly go fast, so if you're debating go ahead and bite the bullet! Purchase links after the break.
Good Morning Mix – Best of Aeroplane’s 2011 Soundcloud Mixes
This Monday's Good Morning Mix is brought to you by thick-framed Belgian producer Aeroplane. At the beginning of 2012, Aeroplane released a bit of a commemorative collection including favorite tracks from each of his twelve monthly "In Flight Entertainment" mixes from 2011. The result? A disco dance dream. If you're already a fan of nu-disco and indie dance many of these tracks may sound quite familiar, but is there really ever such a thing as too much of a good thing?
