If this year's VMA nominations are any indication, dance music is increasingly beginning to find its place in mainstream media. In past years similar nominations have been heralded as major accomplishments and milestones, but in 2013 the shock and xenophobia is beginning to wear off.

MTV VMAs add Best Electronic Dance Music Video category, leaves the voting to you
MTV has added a Best Electronic Dance Music Video category to the 2012 Video Music Awards. The nominees for the first EDM music video VMA are Avicii's "Levels," Calvin Harris' "Feels So Close," Duck Sauce's "Big Bad Wolf," Martin Solveig's "The Night Out," and Skrillex's "First of the Year (Equinox)."
