Diplo teases new Jack Ü will be released soon
When news that Skrillex and Diplo would be joining forces on a collaborative side project now known as Jack Ü back in 2013, the hype was immediate and overwhelming. Though it took until 2015 for the two industry titans to release their debut album, they’ve more than lived up to the anticipation. Jack Ü swept the Grammy’s, picking up wins for their monster smash with Justin Bieber “Where Are Ü Now” — which has since been certified triple platinum — and also pulling in “Best Dance/Electronic Album” for Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü. They even performed with Bieber using live instruments at the awards ceremony.
This isn’t the first time fans have gotten word a new release from the supergroup is imminent; Skrillex said back in 2015 to expect a new EP in early 2016 and rapper Lil Dicky shared an Instagram post of himself in the studio with the duo in January. With the evidence mounting and, if Skrillex’s timetable is to be believed, it wouldn’t be a shock to see their next release very soon — just in time to dominate the main stages of the summer festival season.
