Boiler Room and Google partner on VR nightclub

In an unconventional effort to connect online audiences with their favorite DJs, Boiler Room has launched a unique virtual reality experience through Google’s Pixel phone called VR dancefloors: Techno in Berlin. This experience is available through the Pixel app, Inception, and features a live performance by Berlin’s FJAAK.

A part of a greater effort to use “the latest accessible technology to unite online audiences around real-life music moments,” this new VR experience is intended to cultivate a “immersive, interactive, online music experience,” claims a statement made by Stephen Appleyard, Chief Business Development Officer at Boiler Room. While the video lasts only around fifteen minutes, it captures the otherworldly sensation of techno clubs in Germany’s capital through its industrial setting and uncanny club inhabitants.
