Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky,’ lead single from ‘Random Access Memories’ played by Canadian radio station
Since premiering a clip for the lead single from Random Access Memories, Daft Punk's hype machine has almost gone supernova. With the album's May 21st release date rapidly approaching, it seems that SONiC 102.9 -- a rock music station from Edmonton -- has shared the entire track. We've heard some impressive bootlegs in the past, productions that hacked up all of the previews to create what appeared to be full length tracks, but this leak has new lyrics not heard before in any of the Daft Punk teasers -- although it is possible that the lyrics are not actually Pharrell's voice. The radio station in question SONiC 102.9, claims that this isn't the official mix but that it "sounds pretty damn close." We'll keep digging until be know for sure but whether this is an official leak and not an artfully crafted bootleg, it only makes our excitement for May 21st that much greater.
Sirius XM wraps up another week of live streams during Miami Music Week
Another year, another stellar set of performances at the Sirius XM lounge in Miami. For 3 days this year, from Wednesday to Friday, the lounge at the W Hotel played host to some of the world's best DJs who spun exclusive sets live to the small but energetic crowd. On Wednesday it was Kygo, Dash Berlin, Michael Woods, Mark Sixma, Chris Malinchak and Andrew Rayel who carried the day for Armin van Buuren's sunset performance. Day 2 kept things highly melodic, with appearances from the larger-than-life Swedes, Axwell, Ingrosso and Alesso, alongside Martin Garrix, Above & Beyond and Dirty South. Friday brought big room electro to the lounge, lead by Revealed stalwarts Hardwell, Dannic, and Dyro who were accompanied by Tritonal, W&W, Jordy Dazz, Blasterjaxx, Sick Individuals, Duke Dumont, Dallas K, Lucky Date, Paris & Simo, Kill the Buzz & Manse and Mako. In addition to the incredible broadcasts Steve Aoki, Kaskade, Carnage, NERVO and even Paris Hilton swung by the lounge to take in the music and rub elbows with their peers in the industry.
