Baauer shares new video for ‘Day Ones’ with Novelist and LeiKeli47
Across the majority of Harry Rodrigues’ work, there is an evident attraction to all things experimental, especially within the hip-hop spectrum. Now with his debut album’s release just around the corner, Baauer is offering up a new video to accompany the latest selection from the record, “Day Ones.” Following a live premiere on Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show, the accompanying feature for “Day Ones” fits right in with the other videos in Baauer’s catalogue, tying the artistry of the composition to a strange, eccentric visual representation.
Tip-toeing between elegance and aggression, the Hiro Murai-directed video for “Day Ones” follows suit, cropping a colonial battle scene and dropping it in the middle of an urban jungle. Both UK-bred grime MC Novelist and underground rap talent LeiKeli47 — who are featured on the track –make appearances in the video, shooting razor sharp spits over Baauer’s heart-halting, bombastic drum progressions.
