Mat Zo follows up on the freebies, releases ‘Real Life’
Staying true to his promises of "free music from now on," Mat Zo follows up last week's "Oldskool Trip" by showing his deeper side on "Real Life." Zo leverages UK garage vibes and squeaky clean sample work to deliver a funk-fueled original that shifts and pops behind a hectic array of bouncy pads and chiming synths. Always genre-divergent, Matan plays into dance music's ever-changing sonic landscape and incorporates a bevvy of styles and aesthetics in the shifty six-and-a-half minute output. Despite its zero-dollar price tag, Zo's latest scoffs at the age old proverb "you get what you pay for," and instead delivers an album-ready production for nothing but the click of your mouse.
Lykke Li – No Rest For The Wicked (Joris Voorn Remix) [Preview]
In the grand scheme of things, Joris Voorn has remained a guiding light to electronic music’s most open-minded fancies. As seen in recent remodels for St Germain and Steve Mac, he also remains one of the industry’s more audacious remixers. Icy alternative songstress Lykke Li is the latest to strike his fancy, one that has the Rejected maestro at the heels of “No Rest For The Wicked” to test the creative remits of his craft once again in 2014. Li’s supple topline offers a more than befitting canvas to the Dutch legend, who takes a more serene and piano-driven approach to that of his often groovier and technically charged output. The result is a beautiful rendition coherent enough to be appreciated away from the dance floor and atmospheric enough to keep the hairs on the back of the neck upright. There are few others on the market who can manage such extremes in temperament and that’s exactly why Voorn remains as essential to the market as he was five years ago.

The Radar Episode 004: Mixed by Satin Jackets
German duo Tim Bernhardt and Den Ishu join the Dancing Astronaut airwaves as Satin Jackets, the indie dance stand outs responsible for a wide array of original hits and sterling remix outputs since their inception. On their contribution to The Radar, the pair piece together 12 tracks of early morning music, kicking things off on a mellow note with Bogdan Irkuk remix of "Lullaby for Robert" by Al Usher before unveiling a remix of the silky smooth "Never Without You," from the hands of Domestic Technology. Things pick up a bit as the mix moves through an interesting array of cuts courtesy of Darius, Heion, Les Loups, Oxford and more, including the Jackets own remix of Salt Ashes "Somebody." Combining tasty French touch, filter cut white noise, and sugar-coated synthwork, the duo delivers effortlessly in the lower BPM range, leaving behind a lush and relaxing hour of disco and indie dance offerings -- fused with a touch of tropical sunrises.
DA Exclusive: Nicole Moudaber & Carl Cox – See You Next Tuesday (Original Mix)
Techno's leading lady Nicole Moudaber, teams up with the legendary Carl Cox, to bring to life the cheekily named "See You Next Tuesday." Sparked from a casual dinner conversation, the pair concoct an alchemic mix of mechanized growls and subtle percussive accents. Reportedly Cox's idea, the "Tuesday" project came to be when he handed Nicole a USB drive stating "We're doing a collab and we're putting it out on MOOD, but all I have is the bass loop," a few e-mails later and the track as born.
Tony Romera – Go Nuts (Original Mix)
Festival house stand out Tony Romera joins the Kindergarten Records family with his latest big room output "Go Nuts." Appropriately titled, Romera harnesses the power of throwback electro house to mix up a cocktail of rowdy synth work and space-age progressions. Framed by child-like sample selection and high-pitched builds, Romera relentlessly builds and releases festival-sized synthesis delivered with the upcoming pool party season in mind. This is thrash music, pure and simple.
Kulkid – I Need U (Original Mix)
French house is on the rise, pushed forward by talents such as Kulkid, the latest name to step out into the spotlight with a handful of Hype Machine chart toppers and a fresh take on the genre he calls home. After a huge remix of Foals put him on the map, the prodigious Frenchman shifted his attention to the original production circuit, prepping a two-track EP 'Forgot About Kul/I Need U.' Utilizing a slice of classic house vocal chops and a propulsive bass line, the chime-driven output creates a charming 90s vibe with some new school edge. "I Need U" is a refreshing revitalization of the Euro-dance scene, and marks a promising future for the talented Frenchman.
